Differentiation describes the change of a function’s value with respect to a variable.

The limit definition of the derivative is as follows: $\frac{d}{dx}f(x)=f^{\prime }(x)={\lim }_{h\to 0}\frac{f(x+h)-f(x)}{h}$

The resulting equation gives a slope of a line tangent to $f(x)$ at some $x$.
