An organization unit (OU) is a generic container of AD objects. As its name implies, an organization unit is created to group and organize objects. For examples, all sales employees may be placed under the Sales OU. OUs are also useful for assigning Group Policy
OUs are not groups
Organizational units cannot be used to assign privileges and rights to other objects.
