- N: enable note input (or press N button on toolbar)
- 1..9: select note duration
- a..g: input note with selected duration
- A..G: add a note to a chord on staff
- Ctrl-K: add a chord (outside of the staff)
- Ctrl-Up/Down: Move current note up/down by an octave
- .: add augmentation dot to note
- 0: input a rest of the selected duration
- Up/Down: raise/lower note by a half-step
- +: extended note by selected duration (with tied notes)
- Ctrl+number: add a tuplet (e.g. triplet, quadruplet, quintuplet, etc)
- toolbar 1, 2, 3, 4: change which voice (different rhythms in the same measure) to input into
