Justified true belief (JTB) is the traditional tripartite analysis of knowledge (@sep-knowledge-analysis), stating that something we know something when:
- It is true.
- We believe it.
- We are reasonably justified in believing it.
JTB’s conditions are necessary but not jointly sufficient, which is revealed by the Gettier cases.
