The collector’s fallacy is the tendency to collect information without processing any of them, e.g., buying books and not reading them, or reading books without thinking them through. Under its influence, it is easy to misinterpret ownership as knowledge or understanding.

This fallacy can be alleviated with Zettelkasten as it forces us to understand new information in the system (i.e., at least write it in our own words) and make meaningful connections between notes.
